Katrina Tuttle is an extremely talented, local wedding gown designer, and over the past 3 years her and I have worked together on many projects and as a result have become such wonderful friends. I don’t know what I would do with out her when I come up with my big ideas for a shoot, she is always right there beside me, and I love her to bits for it. A dress she made custom for one of our beautiful bride’s mother was part of a feature in Magnolia Rouge this past May, her talent is beyond words.
We first met way back when she contacted me about having a sunset shoot with her husband in a gown she had made herself, and I couldn’t resist. We drove to Polly’s Cove, Nova Scotia at sunset, and got to work shooting. The gown is called the “Madelyn”, and is a two piece gown featuring a skirt of silk tulle overlaying silk Dupioni paired with a corded french Chantilly lace top with eyelash details.
She made her beautiful floral bouquet out of flowers foraged from her mother-in-law’s backyard for the shoot, and we tied it with Frou Frou Chic ribbon. The jewelry featured in this collection is handmade by Earth Goddess here in Nova Scotia as well. See this feature on the Styled in Lace wedding blog! A little bit about Katrina, at the age of just six, Katrina decided she wanted to be a fashion designer when she grew up. She showed her first LG Fashion Week Collection at the age of 21 as the first East Coast and youngest designer to show at LG Fashion Week. Katrina has been featured in many publications such as Teen Vogue, ELLE Canada, FLARE, Sharpe Magazine, HELLO! Magazine with broadcast on Fashion Television, Oh So Cosmo!, CBC, among many others. Her style is so delicate and timeless, and she uses the finest quality fabrics for her designs.
Katrina Tuttle Bridal is located on Spring Garden Road, in downtown, Halifax, Nova Scotia. She makes 60+ custom dresses a year for brides, bridesmaids and mothers of the brides.
